how can i remove a sock that is stuck in the washing machine. does the drum need to be removed.

depends where it got stuck!
look between the rubber door seal and the stainless inner drum with a torch.common place for them to get wedged in there.removing the element can sometimes give access under the drum or by removing the bottom sump hose
