My Beko WMA665W hangs after a few seconds at the start of a program!?

Our Beko WMA665W has began to have a mind of its own. Firstly the program selector switch doesn't match up with the digital read out and yesterday I switched it on and it was stuck in some random state showing 1 min on clock. I reset it by power cycling the on/off button and then pressing the start/pause button for a few seconds.
Now it starts a program and then hangs.... it will fill with water but the drum will not turn, I have cleaned the filter but still doesn't play ball.
It will drain if you set it to drain and press the start button about 7 times as it starts, resets and hangs in sucession and then works ( but doesn't release the door).
I have tried another reset:-
Power off
select 90 degrees
Power on holding the Start button in
Display shows "----"
Then power cycled the on off button again it looks like it has reset but at the start of a program hangs again!

Repeated the above but instead of Power Cycling for a second time, pressed the Start button again and all of the "display and button" lights begin flashing.
Power cycled on/off button and appears to be in the same position as I started with the program hanging!!

I know I've tried lots of combinations, any ideas out there?
thanks Paul

Well all fixed now..
Programs would start but when the drum was required to start it didn't at this point the program would hang....wait about 3 minutes and then try again but hung again and would stay in this cycle.
I checked all the connectors to the main processor PCB these were connected ok and relays were switching in and out....
Then checked connections to motor and the Blue&White wire was broken at the multi connector on the motor. This wire connected back to the Main PCB "AC2".... fixed wire and all working OK now.
I had to take the motor off to unplug the plug and socket multi connector, but maybe it could have been done with the motor left on.

Hope this helps someone

Yeah I'd be careful when you get to the "all lights flashing".. I think i'm in a test mode where you can step through some of the routines, filling (main and conditioner), draining and checking (lights leds and main display). Still no spin though!
The program selector switch out of position was just the connector from the switch pcb to the main pcb, not on straight, pushed it home and selector working ok now.. for now!
