How do i adjust the Handbrake on a T Reg Citroen Xsara, ?

Help, the Handbrake on my T Reg Citroen Xsara is at the top of its housing and the cars rolls forward when handbrake is applied, i have looked underneath and cannot see anything to adjust, any help or guidance would be appreciated
