Miele g646sc plus - burning smell?

I have a Miele g646sc plus dishwasher that is approx 11 years old. Inlet/drain light kept coming on and after many hours of cleaning out filters etc I realised that there must be another issue. Removed the white kick-plinth and metal cover-plate and found water in the drip tray. Dried it all off and set the machine running, whilst shining a torch to look for drips. Discovered small drip coming from component between motor and 'sump'. Rang miele and ordered parts (116,114 & 112). I have now replaced those and the leak is no more.....HOWEVER the small motor (item 210) that seems to be activated by the polystyrene flood float will not turn off and has been running all day after we put the machine on in the morning. The smell of burning was terrible. I have tried disconnecting the polystyrene float switch but it makes no difference. The only way is to isolate the machine and not use it !!!! Can anyone offer advice please? Is there another safety switch that might have been activated?

The switch which is operated by the float in the event of a leak, operates the drain pump & switches off the water valve.
If you taken off the connector block to this switch then the drain pump should stop running.
If it does still run at this point, then the electronic module is damaged.
If the drain pump doesn't run at this point, then the little microswich above the float is faulty.
