how can i repair ceramic hob thermostat?

The energy regulators in my ceramic hob are not functioning properly - when I switch on the burners, they just go and stay on full heat. The last time this happened the technician replaced the whole regulator and it was very expensive. It seems the THERMOSTAT within the regulator that is not cutting out.
Is there a way of fixing(not replacing) the thermostat?

Thanks ck. It's a pity. It's not economical to replace them, all 4 regulators. Their price is in the £40 range - a total of around £160, plus shipping. For this price I'd rather buy a new hob!! and this time it would definitely not be a Baumatic.

if its an energy regulator that is faulty you can't repair them.they need replacing for safety
