Leyland Daf 45 130 dying going up hills?

Daf 45 130 H reg, dying when going up hills, some smoke coming fro underneath.

sounds like fuel supply problem,check filters,especially the fine one on sedimenter .also check in tank for foreign matter blocking feed pipe,could also be lift pump or fuel supply pipe chaffed and drawing air [small pinhole]
