Had a similar problem years ago .... would be driving along and the engine stops.... into side road and examine engine ... but half an hour later off again until same would happen a little later.
Remove your petrol cap and listen for a rush of air into petrol tank. Could it be a blocked vent hole in the petrol cap?
No ... ok it was worth a try.
