Hi, again sorry you will find after running the wizard on each PC that both PC's should now show up in my network places on desktop if using classic folders and all shared folders etc. if not double click entire network and keep double clicking untill you see your two PC's. If you have software firewalls you will have to grant permission on each one to allow your connections or simply dissable or uninstall both untill you have your connections set up then reinstall and firewall should ask if you want to allow connection to these PC's. simply say yes and tick box to remember your answer. I'm sorry I often presume that people know where all these things are and snags they might encounter. All the best.

HI, Sorry you will find new connections wizard in network connections in control panel.

Run the new connection wizard in control panel and select that it's connected by direct cable connection follow the prompts and finish, then do the same on the other PC. then drop or copy and paste anything you want into the shared folder and simply go to the other pc and retrieve it from the shared folder. you can also make your hard drives shared by right clicking your H/D and selecting the sharing tab click share this drive, it will warn of security risk but ignore or it wont share the drive. There is also another way, you can put the drive you want info from into your PC as a slave then you can access all that is on it by simply going into my computer and double clicking it to open. This way is only if you are renewing drive and want info from it first and want to do a clean install on new drive. it depends on what you are doing. The best way if you want each PC on the net and to share resources printer files etc, is to get a Modem/router like safecom SAMR4114 which you can connect 1 via USB or 4 via ethernet 5 pc's can be connected and has a built in hardware firewall (SPI) costs around £30 + P&P and is very good, has loads of features that some at twice the price don't have. Hope this has helped you?
