it depends how and where it has jammed. Usually, you tear the paper rolls where they enter the printer at the back, then use the feed buttons to see if you can feed the last piece of paper out. Most models have release levers that will open the feed roller clamp and allow you to remove the paper. If you can't, it is possible to pull VERY gently and slowly from the front after you have torn the roll off at the back.
