I have a 1998 vectra 1800cc petrol model,. The problem is, the car cuts out when ever we change gear or idle, it does'nt matter if its hot or cold or wet or dry outside, and also only happens now and then. Any help would be great.

Remove and clean the throttle body and idle control valve. Use new gaskets when refitting.
This is usually just a short term fix, if the problem comes back you will need a new idle control valve.They are not too expensive.

might be the idle speed, a bit to low. try increasing it very slightly.
