Mower blades won't start on my Poulan Riding Mower?

When I engage the attachment clutch the mower blades do not start, what could be the problem?

With the engine off, check to see that the clutching pulley is moving to tighten the bent when the lever is moved to engage the blades. If it is check to see if the idler pulley's are frozen or if the blade manderal bearings are locked up.
