May be but doubtful its the charge units as both going together rings no bells [excuse the pun] with me.
My thoughts are the batteries, so try swapping the good working phones batteries into the handsets that are not working see how they charge/perform. If the dead phones have re-generated then it must be the batteries but would say renew all not just the dead handset ones.
