how do i fix my zanussi 6244?

my zanussi6244 was not heating so i replaced the heating element. Once switched on it comes up end of cycle and cotinues to pump out.any ideas

did you move a float switch in the base to get access to the element?.is there water in the plastic base?.Lay machine on its back to see if water comes out
