AEG 16810 how can I fix problem?

My washing machine washed successfully but I had put it on slow spin speed, turned it to long/fast spin and it made a bucket full of nails sound although did empty machine. Hubby took pump apart and found a coin in it, put it back together and reassembled machine, now empties quietly but won't go into spin and shows E52 error. Any suggestions welcome!

And brushes have more than 10mm on them.

He says no.

E52 is a motor error code
Did he lay the machine on its side with the soap draw upwards as this can allow water to run in to the pcb and cause serious damage.Remove the motor brushes and check that there is a good 10mm or more carbon left on them
