Vauxhall Astra Problem?

I have a 1998 vauxhall astra 1.6 as its having running problems. The car judders generally at speed particularly accelerating, i have looked on the net and there numerous possibilities. I have changed the coil pack, the leads, spark plugs, oil and cleaned the ERG valve but it still persists. Can anyone else offer some answer. Thanks

My 1996 Corsa 1.2 would never run properly on supermarket petrol. I stopped using supermarket petrol and after a couple of tankfulls of decent petrol it always ran perfectly thereafter. I'd never use supermarket petrol again unless it was an emergency.

However, my son's car, a 1.8 Vectra runs ok on it.

My friend had an Astra 1.6 16v which had a problem with sticking valves. He got rid of the car in the end because he didn't want to go to the expensive of removing the cylinder head and replacing all the valves. I suspect that was exacerbated by using cheap petrol which allowed deposits of burnt carbon to build up on the valve stems. Reports of 16v Astra's suffering from the problem were quite common as I recall.

Worth a try using Texaco, BP, Shell, Esso or Total don't you think?
