indicators not working headlight and brake lights "flashing" instead?

hi there im currently rebuilding a motorbike and ive just got round to the indicators, ive put a new relay on and checked the bulbs and fittings and they are all sound, however the indicators were only working on the right hand side (front and back) then they stopped working ( i think i may have got a cable mixed up..now none of the indicators work and the only lights that flash are the headlight and rear light (only when i turn the lights on) no matter what side of the switch i select....I really dont know whats going on, can anyone please help me?

hi adam its a chituma 125 05 plate....the battery is fully charged and is 12volts, are you saying that if the bike is just sat idle with the engine not running this would have an effect on the lights? that does kind of makes sense, would this cause the fuses to keep blowing aswell because yesterday i lost 9!!!!!!

well if the battery is poor and the bike isnt running then it will affect other lamps if your using the indicators ,you need to find out what colours the indicator wires are and see if you have them in the right places ,what bike is it ?make /model/year ect....?is it 12 volts or 6 volt ect
