How do I program a negative department for returns on a Sharp XE-A106?

The reason I need a negative key is to issue credits to customers deducting it from the sale amount. I buy and sell books so oftentimes a customer has a credit for the books I bought but I want to deduct this from the sale of the new books he is purchasing.

Why don't you just turn the key to void mode and enter the item you want to void, then the payment type?
It's easier than trying to make negative departments.
Make sure you remember to turn the key back to reg afterwards.
