Why does the engine management light come on when i turn on my ka, it always starts and is a very reliable little car.

Engine management light comes on to tell you some thing is not right. You need to find out the code related to it, to find out what the problem is. Garages will get the code for you, but can be expensive, ask around your friends, see if anyone has an OBD reader
