DAF 45 150 turbo 1989 (10 tonn)?

Our lorry has stood for a couple of months with being snowed in. I took her for a test drive to find that the accelerator was sticking - as though the choke was still on. We went out for an hour to see it it loosened off. When stationary and reved quite hard, the revs then dropped only to get stuck again when driving. I assume that the cable needs some grease but I can only see one area where the cable is easily visible as its not a tilt cab. Am I on the right tracks do you think or am I missing something? is the cable accessible in more places than through the left wheel arch where its really visible? many thanks!!

I had the same problem, under the cab there's a shaft that goes through main rail of the cab it gets dry and makes the shaft stick spray both ends with WD40 while moving the pedal. It works for me every time.

A new pedal is £106 plus vat from a dealer and the throttle cable is about £50. Pedal is easy to change but the cable is a bit tricky to rout.

if fitted with an RSL then the lainkage will probably need freeong off ..if no RSL ,a new pedal and cable is really what is needed..all DAF 45 left the factory with tilt cabs ...i take it you have a horsebox and the body is attached to the cab
