riding mower?

i am havinga problem with my 2005 troy bilt, bronco, riding mower. for the past 6 months i have had trouble getting the tractor to start. I get a lot of clicking but it will not catch. I have changed the battery 2 times and replaced the starter. also i changed the spark plug.still no luck. At times it has finnallycome around in about 5 minutes, but other times i've had to jump start it. I'm thinking maybe it,s the key ignition. your thoughts please----thanks

You can get a clicking sound if you either have bad earths or connections on the main leads - even with a new battery. Corrosion builds up on the cables and then you don't get full power. With a weak battery you can also damage the solenoid so even with a new battery solenoid will only click.
Check all leads are clean and tight on connections to both battery and earth to chassis.
If that all checks out okay change solenoid.
