Morphy Richards says our jet stream elite iron is stuck in standby and nothing can be done with it. The base unit seems OK but the standby light is flashing green. The hand unit does not heat up and its large red light does not come on. I have changed the filter and worked the temperature dial to loosen the thermostat but to no avail.

Any suggestions please?
