Dripping Aqualisa Digital Quartz Power Shower?

I have a six year old Aqualisa Digital Power Shower which dripps continually. Aqualisa seem to want £250 to replace which seems excessive for what I believe is probably a leaking valve in the control unit. Any suggestions for a fix? I'm a compentent engineer (electronics) so can probably carry out resonable range of repairs.

I have identical symptoms (continual minor dripping from shower head) on a now out of warranty (6.5 year) "grey" unit and intend to embark on opening the unit to investigate and mend the failing part. Cliff, if you succeeded would you care to share what you did and we can build this answer form into a point of reference/learning for others.

Research online suggests this leak may be symptomatic of worn/corroded ball-bearings in a flow valve and can be fixed with replacement ball-bearings. Any tips on disassembly and re-assembly to maintain unit in as-built condition would be of interest.
