Electrical glitch on my 1992 BMW K100 RS_(16v)?

When starting the bike one has to pull/press both the front and rear brakes simultaneously to cancel the red indicator light on the instrument panel – indicating that both front and rear brakes activate the stop light.

Well, this morning I noticed that the indicator light on the instrument panel did not go off and that my front brake, when pulling the brake lever, does not activate the stop light. No problem with the rear brake pedal activating the stop light. And the other lights all working fine.

What can the problem be and where can I start to look?

Hi, as the rear brake operates so does the rear brake light, so that rules out faulty bulb and wiring up to the point where the front brake light switch wiring connects to it. Have a look around the pivot area of the front brake lever & you should find possibly a plunger type elec. switch with wires coming from it, now look at that part of the lever that touches this plunger should be some type of adjuster usually a lock-nut & bolt, adjust this in/out until the rear light comes on. It could be a faulty switch/wiring/connections if the adjuster doesn't do it.
