my car was recently recalled to have the camshaft bearing bolts tightened, its an 05 plate Tigra coupe. The following day the boot refused to shut without applying pressure on it then pressing button to close it. Now after 2 weeks of this problem, the boot only opens half way, still having to apply pressure on boot before it will shut using button. Tried to put the roof down on it last week - boot half opened then jammed, roof didnt move an inch ! (Luckily), took us 2 hours to get the boot shut after figuring out how to shut it without damaging it.
My question is: would the garage visit have anything to do with this due to having to reset any settings whilst in for recall? i asked them this question and the guy said its been nowhere near the mechanics who specialise in the boots, i said that wasnt my question ! Plus i could sense he was being a tad sarcastic, ive also seen a few forums on the net with similar problems on these cars yet no recall has been issued.
I would be greatfull for any kind of help.
