How can I control the charging of my fridge freezer?

I have a 'Servis Frost Free' fridge freezer. The freezer works perfectly. However, the fridge keeps charging for about three quarters of the day and night whereas our other fridges only charge for a few minutes every hour. The fridge maintains the correct temperature and doesn't freeze up but obviously I am being charged for the electricity while it is charging. How can I prevent the continual charging without losing the coldness in the fridge?

A fridge freezer does not charge anything.. It pumps coolant round the system to cool the fridge freezer and remove the warm air to get down to its working temperature. The only way to stop the unit from switching on and using electricity is, don't open the door, simples
