I am trying to program a new key for my ford transit connect as per the insteuction book using the two keys that came with the van but not having any joy ....help !!!!!

You do not give enough information. BUT general
From another source

obtain all remotes
switch ign from off to on 8 times within10 secs
Programming mode, (doors will lock then unlock)
within 20 secs
press and release any button on 1st remote
Doors lock then unlock to indicate correct Programming
within 20 secs,
press and release any button on 2nd remote
Doors lock then unlock to indicate correct Programming

ETC ETC.
Switch ignition OFF Doors lock then unlock to indicate prog mode deactivated. MAX of 4 remotes can be activated, that includes the original
