When I lowered the roof I did not know my wife had put a TV in the boot and pulled the screen over it - there should be a device which stops the roof opening but this did not operate - the roof opened, smashing the rear window - estimated cost £2,000 - Peugeot dealer says there is no system to stop the roof opening in this situation - can anyone help with information please

No car is completely idiot proof. By pulling the screen over the TV you were effectively telling the car that the space was clear.
