I have had this strimmer for just over a year and now when I switch it on having charged it (or so I thought) it dies within seconds. The local mower repair shop say they can't get spares and think it's probably the batteries. Homebase where I bought it can't/won't help either.

I am in exactly the same position as above. Tried all the same avenues ending up with the same answers, nothing!!!
Tried speaking to HB/Soveriegn on phone couldn't speak to anybody that way either. All lines/operators are busy, busy. Does that tell us something about the product we are talking about?
No wonder it's the discontinued line. And while we're on the subject the blades are rubbish too
