why is my gilera dna50cc cutting out on me?

i have a gilera dna 50cc. recently i've put on a new drive belt (snapped on dual carraige way). new clutch drum, clutch springs, new rollers and a new starter moter.
before i put these on as i mentined earlier i was on the dual carraige way going around 60mph and my drive belt snapped. so the next day i put a new drive belt amongst over things (earlier stated)
now i have put these things on my bike seems fine for around 10-15 secs on the road then it cuts out!!
i've been told by a friend of mine it may have something to do with my variator, but i don't seem to think so.
please help!!!

Deff. not the variator or any of the gear box. Could be electrical, overheating, oil flow, or fuel mixture. Will the engine turn over easily with the kickstart after it cuts out, if not its a heating or lubrication problem.

its much more likely to be either a problem with the carb or the head gasket as these bikes are prone to head gaskets blowing,ok
