how do I remove the wing mirror housing from my ford fiesta lx?

The drivers wing mirror has broken also the housing. I have removed the mirror but getting the housing off is proving difficult? Ford Fiesta 1.4 LX, electric mirror on the drivers door. Year 52 plate.
