A dealer will/should make sure the van is safe for towing and will have carried out tests on the gas and electric systems. The caravan must be as described and fit for purpose, but it’s up to you to keep your eyes peeled for badly stained carpets, missing taps and delaminating floors.
Could be the mains heating [Electrics side of heating] has a fault. Rule out the fan that's 12volt.
It has to be the heating element or controls that are linked to mains. May even be the hookup cable.
