I own an Ariston washer dryer that fails to spin properly?

The Ariston model is Margherita CD12T. It runs a full wash but then fails to spin. It speeds up and then slows down within seconds. The wash cycle finishes with the contents dripping wet.

Mine has exactly the same problem - I know that doesn't help but at least you're not alone. I can't really think what would stop it spinning up; our has always been unbalanced during a fast spin and on testing it with nothing in or a small load it will spin up. So it seems to be the load or wonky spin that is stopping it.

Our door gasket is knackered too and has been since installation i think.

Not sure but sounds like you have something stuck in your filter. You need to take front bottom cover off and undue filter (this is the hard part), water will come out then hopefully a coin or something too! I have a similar problem but cannot get my filter oipen any help most welcome!!
