my dad has a Opel corsa on 99 plate an orange light on the dash board keeps on flashing now and then how can we find out what this means he has left the manual at home

the orange light is the engine check light, it's a new thing with cars, it tells the cars computer that theres a fault somewhere in the engine, the only way to fix it is take it to a garage a mechanic will connect up a diagnostic machine and it will read out whatever the fault is, (expensive...about 50pounds just to hook it up) and the prob could be nothing more than a dirty spark plug but best get it checked out

The orange light will have a symbol on it which you have not told us.
