I turned my hoover on but nothing happens - I changed the fuse and openend it up inside but all seems fine - any ideas of what could be wrong. Is it worth getting repaired or shall I buy a new one it is only 1 year old ?

One of these will be defective - Me? I would cut 6-9" of cable away at the plug end and fit a new plug - cheap, quick & easy.

Very, very often a conductor - inside the cable at the bend near the plug - breaks due to constant tugging and stretching from an enthusiastic operator.
