need help with sawing machine?

I have a new home sawing machine and while sawing the thread underneath machine was not catching then the bobbin would'nt go round to pick up the cotton. I have taken out the bobbin and behind the bobbin holder. The needle moves up and down but the bobbin does'nt move. Can anybody help please.

Sounds like maybe the screw on the hook drive may have come loose.Remove the base plate & look into the right hand side of the machine.You will see a con rod that runs from the upper part of the machine & connects onto a shaft that runs to the hook.If you turn the machine by hand the shart should rock back & forth.If this is not the case you will need to tighten the screws on the con rod.With the machine on it's back remove the hook retaining ring,set the machine to zig zag & maximum width & with the needle on the left turn the shaft until the point of the hook is just above the eye of the needle on it's upward stroke.Tighten the screws & you should be ready to go.Hope this helps.
