Lack of power?

Have my sister-in-laws Fiat Punto ELX , Y reg , with no power . Revs ok but when driving doesn't have any power . The car has just had a service last week and she has been driving fine untill yesterday , on a long trip and the power just died with the car going no faster than 30 . No warning lights on. Any bright ideas ? AA recovered the vehicle and thought it might be the catalytic converter .
Thanks
Ken

The O.P. says the engine revs OK, which would suggest the exhaust is not choked. Look for loose or split air hoses and trunking first.

either cat blocked or have had a problem like this before and turned out to be the wadding in back box blocking it first remove back box and try before attempting cat replacement
