juddering rover 45 1.8?

hi all

ive just bought a rover 45 1.8 petrol and the thing was fine until i got it to speed (about 60mph) thats when it started to judder. so stopped and all was fine and carried on but the thing happened again. ive now got 3 machanics out and got 3 different solutions.one said it was the fuel pump one said it was the coil pack and the last saying it was blocked fuel lines. its been on the computer with no faults. i changed the fuel filter with no change. does anyone out there have a clue or is it a case of trail and error. obviously dont want to be wasting money.

many thanks in advance

I had the same problem. First try replacing the HT Leads for £13 from Halfords. (they are the spark plug wires under the engine cover) It is really simple to do. 10mm spanner for 3 bolts ... unplug old leads and pop new ones on. may as well change the spark plugs while your in there. That is your best bet.

If that doesn't work then in the same place are the coil packs that the HT leads bolt on and they are £60 from Halfords.

most common fault is spark plugs either misfiring or weak spark coil packs are a common thing also to cause this problem try renewing sparkplugs first
