how can i repair a porsche 996 remote key fob?

my 1998 porsche 911 996 remote key fob does not light up ,i have changed the battery twice with the correct 3v CR2032, can i purchase a transponder for the key fob ? I believe Porsche charge £160 for a new key fob .
Is there any other way to repair it?
