Nissa micra 2004 model any ideas! Today started cutting out while driving?

Nissan Micra 2004 replaced chain Dec has been great since then no problems till today. Starts up fine, loss off power when driving, dying when I slow down, Engine sound now like a bag of hammers when idle. Appreciate any ideas (recent new battery, have replaced filters also) HELP
