ABS Warning light Peugeot 307?

The Abs warning light on 2002 1.4 HDI Peugeot 307 comes on and off. Comes on after driving for short period, then stays on. The brakes have been cheched and are OK. Abs seems to be on before the light comes on then are OK when its on. Please advise

most commonly rear sensor goes, wires sometimes corrode, its worth checking resistance across wires. before buying a new sensor remove both rear sensors, clean all corrosion off the backplate and refit sensor. observe gap between sensor and wheel bearing, should be no more than 1-2mm. as close as possible to bearing without fouling it

most likely is a wheel speed sensor,it's located behind each brake disc (look for a wire and trace it to the sensor). you can unplug it and get one from a scrappy £10...which one of the 4 is anybody's guess unless you get the car on a diagnostic machine ££££....a wee hint , both fronts and both rear will be the same so u can buy 1 of each and try them one at a time
