The Element doesnt work, could it be that the thermostat isnt working? of more than likely could it be soley the element

most likely the element. 1st turn the thermostat fully from 1 side to other,if u hear a click its working. get a torch and carefully look at the element,often u will see a burnt area where it has failed. then get a new elephant
