thanks for that ck.all sorts in the filter including 50p piece!! impeller is fine< have also checked the belt ,it is in place.. any other ideas...seems to have stopped spinning now

check the wiring to the motor connector and then remove the motor and remove the motor brushes and check that the carbon bit is at least 10mm in length
Also switch on the machine and hold the start button pressed for 5 sec to reset the electronics just in case this is the issue
