The alarm keeps beeping 9 times then a pause when set?

I have taken the covers off my 3 sensors as they went off a couple of times during the night and I thought they may possibly have dust in them. Since then the alarm will not set. The model is Veritas 8 bought before 2005.

or do as acorn said, put covers back on properly, mark, you are going to get into bother telling people to wire out the tamper circuit, this will make their insurance void ,as the alarm is not then up to b.standard,i guess you are not long in this trade.

Enter your code then press PROG. Or if you know the engineer code enter that then PROG.
Then press o5 press 1 for bell test (listen for it) 2 for strobe (take a look at bell box flashing light).
Press rest. All lights should be displayed on the keypad. Press 06 the system should start making a beeping sound. if all the lights ar on display and it beeps 9 times consecutively - you have a tamer fault. Simplest way to resolve this is to link out the tamper circuit in the panel. then try the walk test again. With the internal tampes defeated the system should make a quiet tick noise and no lights will be displayed - provide panel tamper is closed and key pad tamper closed.

Try that and tell me more --

As in your manual, 9 beeps is a tamper fault.

Put the covers back on correctly.
