I have just reprogrammed an Optima XL6 alarm, everything seems to work apart from theres an intermittent sound coming from the bell. Is this a warning to say either the battery in the control panel has gone or the one in the bell box?

No its because the bell box needs a bit of TLC, its sitting on the wall all on its own, poor thing, i think you need to get a ladder out and talk to it, its obviously very lonely up there all on its own, just needs a friend to talk to.
Thats why its making a noise, its upset and its crying out for help.
