why does my fuel guage always show full?

i have a peugeot speedfighter 2 100cc the fuel gauge always show's full when i turn the ignition on but never goes down!!!! fuel sender is not stuck and moves freely???

sounds like an electrical connection fault from sender to ? to gauge. Sorry I'm not qualified to be any more specific.
