I have a dell inspiron 1525, when i power on there s no display on screen, not even on an external screen via the vga port.
The external screen is working ok as i use it for reinstalling o/s on desktops,the blue power lights are on for charging & power when i switch the laptop on,i have tied to use the ubcd(ultimate boot cd) the disc drive is working ok as you can hear it reading the disc, it also has an HDMI port which is not connected to anything inside the laptop.
Please help

Ok i tried doing that & still nothing is happening,just a beep every time i tap the F8 key, any other suggestions apart from stripping it for spares.
I even changed the screen for a known working one of the same type but still no joy.

try starting it in safe mode.. keep tapping on the f8 key when its starting up. to take it into safe mode, if you get into safe mode , do a system restore on it,,
