Indicator lever?

I have a Peugeot 206 LX. The indicator/driving-lights lever has been giving a lot of problems -- cancelling itself or, after making a turn, going to the opposite side.

I see that spare parts are available on ebay and elsewhere, but they look slightly different from the one I have in my car. How can I be sure that they will work?

remove surround from column at bottom of steering wheel. (two torx20 screws). turn steering wheel 90 degrees there should be a label facing you with 10 digit number stuck on switches starting 96. these numbers and the few following numbers must be the same as new switch unit.
