No electrics?

I have just started to restore a 1982 Honda 250n but im having trouble with the electrics!!
When i hook up the battery i have power going into the starter solenoid and regulator and all the fuses are live, but i can get no other electrical activity on the bike not even the lights or dash lights on the clocks!
Nothing seems to work & the thing wont even start so whats up?? is it the regulator output??

you say you have power into the starter solenoid, to me that means you have ignition on and the starter button pressed which should turn the starter motor to start the engine?! sounds like you need to check inside all the handlebar switchgear for corroded contacts then back through the wiring, disconnecting all the block connectors checking pins for corrosion, check wiring to frame earth points must be clean & tight. main fuse is a 15A, and the other two 7A.
