i want to have my egr remapped, but it has to be working to do this, can i take the old one out get it machined back to the flange and bolt it back on ie blank it?

Would help if you told us basic details, make model year. Some cars you just need a blanking plate you can make yourself.

a code reader with live data program will tell you if the egr valve is working or not,dont understand why you want to blank it off,it is there for a reason!
