Do I have a safe engine?

My Timing Belt has snapped in my car it is a 1.2 8valve engine. Is this a safe engine? (meaning no pistons or other engine parts are likely to be damagaed)

That happened on my daughter's 1.2 Nova. Just put a new belt on and it was fine.

Depends what car YOU are talking about though...???

It would help if you had given the make/model & year!!!

the only way to find out is to get it looked at, it would depend on what speed you were doing at the time the belt snapped. but it would be safe to say some damage may have happened. so you will need to get a tow truck to take it to the garage. good luck.
